We have been working on a preparatory school in Manchester, carrying out a survey and condition report on the mechanical HVAC and electrical small power and lighting systems, including all heating, ventilation, air conditioning, distribution boards, and other electrical circuits within the school, along with the condition of the boiler, radiators, and related equipment.
We carried out CAD layouts of each room, including data sheet analysis, and full layout drawings for the basement, ground floor, first, second, and third floors, showing the locations of M&E HVAC electrical services and lighting details in association with the survey and condition report.
We carried out thermal camera image surveys and reports for the school under full heating load during one of the winter nights in December 2024, identifying where heat is escaping through cracks, openings, uninsulated roof spaces, and how both single and some double-glazed windows are affected by heat loss.
We carried out a comprehensive analysis of the BB101 regulations, including ventilation and overheating calculations, verification, and validation of test requirements, and issued recommendations for adding thermal insulation, air conditioning, and additional ventilation to improve indoor air quality for both staff and students.
And finally for the school we carried out a proposal for the installation of over 50 PV solar panels, including a cost savings report versus capital spend, highlighting potential savings of over £100,000 over the life expectancy of the solar panels.
